I am an autistic man who is also an electric wheelchair user, I have been trying to get proper adapted housing for 16 years in this town with the council accepting I am entitled to adapted housing but claiming there isn't any...... Just last week I was contacted by a member of the council telling me they are building wheelchair adapted housing in Holbeck & asking if I would like to bid on one o f the properties...... Totally disgusting, I can't even get in & out of my wheelchair without help, I would have no chance of defending myself in an area like that & would become an instant target to the druggies looking for someone easy to rob....... I don't think it is right any disabled person should be made to live in an area like Holbeck, This council should be put infront of a firing squad for the way they treat the people of this town!
