I believe this in full because I came across this personally not because I wanted to, but because I wanted to save up some money as a student here in Nagoya, Japan. I had financial difficulties and decided to start saving up by eating less or not eating at all. The longest I stayed without food (excluding water) in my first trial was 4 days. Since those 4 days, it seemed my body adjusted (or reset); I did away with the food I once craved. In the process, my alcohol consumption was reduced in the process because I had this mentality that alcohol must be balanced with the amount of food consumed. Its been over a year now that I’ve been eating one meal in 1 to 3 days and alcohol consumption dropped to about a wine bottle a month unless, off-course, I have something to celebrate, like my birthday, etc., which I normally compensate with equivalent amount of freshly cooked food. I feel great, I lost some weight from the center, I feel much lighter and much more alert, and I realized I saved up more than I did before. Ultimately I begin to realize that the human body can survive without food after all, so what was all these eating about? In fact I believe that eating speeds up the aging process. Nature didn’t create us to consume everything, nature made us to balance the universe by taking in the right amount and giving back the right amount.
